RMEMA Meter School Proficiency Exam

The RMEMA Meter School Proficiency Exam is intended for individuals who have mastered the content covered in the Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Tracks. It is an open book exam with the Electric Meterman’s Handbook being a recommended resource.

For those preparing to take the Meter School Proficiency Exam, we strongly recommend that you complete one full track per year in chronological order. (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced). The exam is comprised of questions that are all covered across the 3 tracks and a lot of the material from the courses build on concepts and information from the previous year’s track.

NEW SCHEDULE – IMPORTANT - So that the Exam review session does not conflict with any meter school courses, we have revised the schedule.

The Advanced and Hands-On Tracks for Meter School end by 11:15am.

There will be a lunch break at this time prior to the Exam Review Session. Lunch will be on your own for this day, however, we are looking into some arrangements that will assist you with receiving lunch on a timely basis, either through pre-order or onsite purchase at CSU.

For those who have registered to take the RMEMA Proficiency Exam, you are invited and encouraged to attend the Exam Review session. This will be held in Room 322 in the Lory Student Center from 12:00pm – 1:30pm on Thursday, March 20th.

After a brief break, the exam will immediately follow from 1:45pm – 4:45pm, also in Room 322, on Thursday, March 20th.

Bring a calculator. It will be an open book exam, and participants are encouraged to bring resource materials. Good resources are materials from past courses, the Handbook for Electricity Metering, Ugly’s Reference Book, and the All in One Book.

All individuals taking the exam will be notified of a Pass/Not Pass result by email. Individuals must receive a score of 70 percent or better to receive a “Certification of Completion” from RMEMA Meter School.
